Château Talbot
Château Talbot
‘Talbot embodies for many the ideal of Saint Julien, generously bouqueted, very stable and sure to age’
emphasize Bettane et Desseauve in their Grand Guide des Vins de France.
It’s true, Talbot is a champion of longevity, which doesn’t prevent it from being amiable and round even in its earliest youth, always marked by silky, smooth, very civilized tannins. Talbot is outgoing by nature, never inward-looking. It’s a racy wine, with complex notes of Havana and licorice, deliciously classic without the slightest hint of austerity.

The centenary vintage
In 1918, Désiré Cordier became the owner of Château Talbot, one of Saint-Julien’s most prestigious crus.
100 years later, the Bignon-Cordier family, still at the helm of the estate, is celebrating this anniversary by unveiling a very special bottle.
To celebrate this memorable anniversary, we have decided to offer this 2018 vintage a unique silk-screened bottle, for the entire 75 cl production.
Other formats (half-bottles, magnums, double-magnums, etc.) will receive a special label, using the same aesthetic as the 75 cl bottle.
A pillar of the Grand Chai as a symbol
A true technical and aesthetic feat, the large barrel cellar is supported by impressive concrete pillars forming a forest that seems to open up towards the sky.
Nancy Bignon-Cordier chose the strong symbolism of these pillars, evoking vines, trees or roots rooted in the terroir, to illustrate her family’s 100th vintage at Talbot.
2018, a remarkable vintage
Elegant and racy, it is true to the profile of Château Talbot’s great wines. Its subtle, refined tannic structure, finesse and concentration give it perfect balance and the assurance of longevity.
